Public events in Redding (CPUC Mtng & SB-100 Workshop)
There are two upcoming public events in Redding that link to the vitality of our communities across the 5 counties that The McConnell Foundation serves (Shasta, Siskiyou, Trinity, Tehama & Modoc). We are sharing them here, with the goal of increasing overall awareness of these events:
California Public Utilities Commission – Public Voting Meeting
Thursday, October 24th 10:00am-11:00am
Redding City Council Chambers – 777 Cypress Avenue – Redding, CA 96001
Their full agenda has posted here, and there are several things that may be of interest to our local community—from water to broadband, from transportation to climate change adaptation. Even California’s Wildfire Fund. Per the CPUC media advisory, they are advising anyone who intends to speak to sign up prior to the 10am start time (it appears that they are governed by rules about this).
Northern California SB-100 Scoping Workshop
Friday, October 25th 10:00am-1:00pm
Redding Electric Utility – Shasta Conference Room – 3611 Avtech Parkway, Redding, CA 96002. Note: this is an updated location as of 10/23.
Event details are here. Click here for more about SB-100: California Renewables Portfolio Standard Program: emissions of greenhouse gases. Attendees from the state of California to include reps from the California Energy Commission, California Public Utilities Commission, and the California Air Resources Board.
Many of you from the region made it here to Redding for the Regions Rise Together event a couple of weeks back…it’s always good to see our neighbors from across the North State. Hope to see you in Redding on Thursday & Friday!
