The McConnell Foundation is an independent foundation located in Redding, California. We are a broad-based funder and award grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, public education, and government agencies located in our giving area — primarily Modoc, Shasta, Siskiyou, Tehama, and Trinity Counties in rural Northern California. Individuals and for-profit businesses are not eligible for funding.
Since the Foundation began actively making grants in 1988, it has awarded more than $160 million in the areas of Arts & Culture, Community Vitality, Education, Recreation, Healthy Communities, and Social Services. Current areas of emphasis are Children, Youth & Education; Healthy Communities; Scholarships; and our long-standing NatureBridge at Yosemite program. We began funding internationally in 1999, and now fund in the countries of Nepal and Laos.
