On October 24th, the project team walked the Phase 1 Demolition site–the northern end of the parking structure at California & Tehama streets in downtown Redding.

The goal? To be thoughtful about how the project site treatment will interface with downtown neighbors–residents, businesses, and organizations alike.

Initial fence line treatment to include:

  • Fully-screened fence line perimeter, with fences mounted atop of K-Rail
  • 6 capstone areas along the the fence line, with project-specific information
  • Minimal treatment of the California Street frontage, as it is a best practice to minimize visual distractions along faster-moving traffic areas

Here is the screening material that will be used. The maker dubs it “Elite Knit Green”:

As Phase 2 Demolition proceeds in Spring 2020, we anticipate an opportunity to engage with more decorative fence line treatments, particularly along the California-Market Alley, which will be widened by 13 feet.
