Learning from California Main Street Alliance
This week, we’ll be attending the California Main Street Alliance conference to learn from other cities across the state, and to connect with them about the revitalization efforts now underway in downtown Redding. Key themes include:
As part of the Main Street America, California Main Street Alliance supports place-based economic development across the state. Per CMSA: “Since its inception over 30 years ago, California Main Street has been extremely effective at working with communities across the state to revitalize downtowns and commercial districts through place-based economic development. California Main Street programs have collectively secured over $7.2 billion in public and private reinvestment, added 31,163 jobs, created 6,481 new businesses, and rehabilitated over 1,300 buildings since 1986.”
We look forward to learning from this convening, and implementing lessons learned as we go forward.
